I’m still kicking myself on missing out on the Comme des Garçons PLAY for Converse canvas Chuck Taylors so when I saw these images in my inbox I thought maybe this was my opportunity for a second chance. Converse has teamed up with Comme des Garçons PLAY again for to create four new styles of the iconic Converse Pro Leather sneaker.

The all-over Comme des Garçons PLAY print makes these a really fun pair of sneakers. While the Comme des Garçons PLAY Converse Chuck Taylors were very subtle, these scream “look at my feet!” You don’t need to worry about what you wear with them because no one will notice – everyone will just be checkin’ out your kicks.

All styles will be available on Dover Street Market’s website and at the Comme des Garçons NYC store starting May 28, in Paris and London starting June 1 and at Comme des Garçons stores in Tokyo and throughout Asia starting June 21 for a suggested retail price of $130-$140.

INSA is bringing back his ever-popular leggings in the Rainbow Life colorway.  I love this colorway and would love to get a pair of these leggings to run in.  If you’re not into leggings – or if you’re into the head-to-toe spandex look then you’re in luck because he’s also releasing Rainbow Life crop tops and leotards.  You can wear lycra for days.  No word yet on the release – just now it’s coming soon.  Will keep you updated on Twitter about the drop date.

If you’re looking for an Android powered tablet that can easily be slipped into a bag without a) taking up too much space and b) causing you immense shoulder pain, Samsung’s got you covered.  The company has just released the third iteration of it’s popular, Android based tablet, the Galaxy Tab 3.

The 3.7 inch WSVGA (1,024 x 600) TFT display tablet features a thinner bezel, a sleeker design, and a one hand grip form factor that ensures a higher level of portability and comfortability than it’s predecessor.  There’s a 3-megapixel camera in the rear and 1.3 -megapixel camera in the front for video chatting.  Powering the tablet is a 1.2.GHz Dual Core processor and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) that allows for faster downloads and sharing while providing easy access to videos, apps, games, and the interne.   You  also get either 8 or 16GB of internal memory (expandable up to 64GB) to store all your pictures, movies, and favorite distractions.

Both Wi-Fi and 3G enabled versions of the Galaxy Tab 3 will be available in the US starting next month with prices starting at $200.

Yes, this can get rather costly if you use a brand name brush cleaner but I have a solution that shouldn’t cost you more than $1.

That’s right baby shampoo in a travel size bottle. The bottle shown can easily last me a few months, well shorter amount of time if I have to take this bottle with me to use on my daughter when we’re traveling. It can get time consuming depending on how many brushes you own and use. I like to break up my clean-up sessions by brush type – shadow brushes one day, blush brushes the next.

You can pour some shampoo in a plastic cup/container and swirl but I just massaging pigment out of the bristles with my fingers. Make sure you wet the bristles first by pointing the bristles down, toward the sink and drain. You don’t want to keep the area between the bristles, wood and holder wet. This will loosen the grip causing the bristles to come out or there might be a possibility of mold if you don’t dry completely.

Once the brushes are clean from makeup and residue, carefully squeeze excess water from bristles with your fingertips and also a towel. I lay my brushes on the side of my sink with the bristles over the edge of the sink so if there is any excess water, it’ll drip into the sink. When I do this the night before, my eye shadow brushes dry over night. However, my blush, powder and bronzing brushes take a little longer to dry.

You can also extend a bit of cleaning time if you do a quick spot cleaning with bottled brush cleaner, I prefer the MAC brush cleaner poured into a small travel spray bottle. I spray a small amount on a paper towel and gently swirl my brush into it until it’s clean. I really like taking this little bottle with me on vacation so I can spot clean even when I’m away from home. This is great because it dries right away – perfect if you are applying makeup on others of if you are using the same brush to apply both light and dark colors.

Baby shampoo works just as well on synthetic brushes as it does on natural.

Like fresh clean bed sheets, I take immediate comfort when I see my nice clean brushes. It’s just a shame to get them dirty all over again. Oh well….

One of my favorite artists is Amy Winehouse. I’ve been surprised at how little has been done to remember her but her family has agreed to help put together an exhibit at the Jewish Museum in London. Curated by her brother Alex Winehouse and his wife Riva, “Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait” will show unseen images of Amy Winehouse, as well as her personal effects including her Grammy, clothing and guitar.

The Jewish Museum London website states:

The family have given the Jewish Museum unprecedented access to Amy’s personal belongings that celebrate her passion for music, fashion, suduko, Snoopy, London and her family.

Amy was close to her family and had a strong sense of her Jewish roots and heritage. The exhibition will show many unseen photographs of Amy’s family life – Friday night dinners, Alex’s Barmitzvah and vintage photographs of their beloved grandmother Cynthia.

Since Amy Winehouse’s family is involved with this exhibition I’m sure it will be touching and will give us a glimpse to the true person that Amy Winehouse was – and that I miss dearly. I only hope that this exhibition will travel to The Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco.

Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” video has the usual graininess that we’re accustomed to seeing in Lana’s videos but the scenery is more grand as she’s accompanied by a full orchestra.  She looks and sounds lovely as usual and I’m loving her crystal tears – a bit “cholafied” just fancier.
