New Music From Tricky: Does It, Nothing’s Changed & False Idols

tricky false idols
Tricky is back in full effect with a new album entitled False Idols put out by the his new label of the same name. The first single Nothing’s Changed came out and the follow up is a video for the single Does It.

I am so excited about this new album, I can’t wait until it drops on May 28 in the U.S. Just hearing these two tracks immediately took me back to my younger days I spent listening to Maxinquaye and the time I saw Tricky perform at a small club in NYC in 1997. Those were the days - and they’re long gone now but I’m looking forward to the release of False Idols to create new memories.

Spring Has Sprung! My Saturday Look

weekend style

Last week I bought the Madewell Meadowlace white tee pictured above and I couldn’t wait to wear it. Now that spring is here, I think this will work well and perfectly transition into summer. I may be pushing it with the all white, but this is one of the outfits I conjured when I saw the top. What I love about this top is there’s so many ways to wear it - I’ll show you a few more in the weeks ahead. Have a great weekend!

Jay Shells Drops “Rap Quotes” On Street Signs in NYC

jay shells rap quotes

I love when artists take street art to the next level and Jay Shells has done just that with his latest art project. His love for hip hop and knowledge of hip hop lyrics shines through in his “Rap Quotes.” Shells made signs - that look pretty official - with famous hip hop lyrics that call out specific locations in New York City. In a little adventure that he documented, he takes us to the boroughs as he posts up his signs on the corners and blocks called out in notable songs. This is one of the coolest street art projects I’ve seen in a long time - check it out below…

Featured songs:
Genius & GZA Chef Raekwon & Ghostface Killah & U-God - Investigative Reports
Big Daddy Kane - Stop Shammin’
Big L - Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous
Jeru The Damaja - You Can’t Stop The Prophet
Mos Def - Mathematics
M.O.P. - Brownsville
Kool G Rap - For Da Brothaz
Heavy D - Get Fresh Hev

Last Chance For Kate Spade’s Pop Art Collection

kate spade pop art

I loved Kate Spade’s Fall collection that was an homage to Pop Art with everything from Mondrian-inspired clothing to Lichtenstein-inspired bags.  Kate Spade even had its own take on Pop Art with bags shaped as sunglasses and bags that screamed Taxi!  Lucky for you, Pop Art never goes out of style so take this time to get your hands on some of these pieces while you still can!  You can find them on the Kate Spade Online Store.
