Fashion Meets Film: Holiday Special!

The Holiday season is in full swing! Now I know everyone is getting geared up in his or hers way. For me it’s more than just the lights, the shopping and the music; I need my movies! Typically you might think of such classics like “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “White Christmas,” or “Miracle on 34th Street.” But this list is one to help expand your tradition films.

People are too stressed this time of year. What you should do is relax, kick back, and laugh your butt off with your family while watching Will Ferrell’s movie ELF. I mean Will Ferrell in green spandex, how could you pass that up?

The Shop Around The Corner
Now you might be familiar with the remake “You’ve Got Mail” starring the romantic movie power couple that was Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, but The Shop Around The Corner is a classic that has always flew a little under the radar. Starring the one and only James Stewart.

Love Actually
December might be the coldest of months but this time of years always seems to know how to warm up our hearts. Love Actually does just that! An adorable ensemble film about love, family, and friends. Oh and strange Christmas music!

The Thin Man
This time of year is meant to be spent with family and friends. And there’s nothing better than murder to bring people together. Well that and whiskey. In this goofy 50’s film is about a “retired’ detective and his wife dealing with a Christmas murder while staying as drunk as possible. With more (and better) one liners than a typical twitter feed.

Comfort & Joy
You most likely know about snow ball fights but what you know about an ice cream war? See what happens when two Italian families, a beautiful shop lifter and a washed up radio host find the true meaning of Christmas in this Irish tale.

So there you have! A great little holiday movie marathon to get anyone in the mood. Find a cuddle buddy or your best body pillow, carmel corn, and a nice mug of hot coca.

Honorable Mention: A Christmas Story, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Holiday Affair, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and The Preacher’s Wife.
