I get jewelry look books all the time but it’s rare that one brings a smile to my face and makes me want to bury many of the pieces for friends and family. Borrowing inspiration from one the decade’s most ubiquitous forms of communications, emoticons, Alison Lou boasts one of the industry’s most playful debut collections. The brand’s Spring/Summer 2013 look book features ‘Girls’ star Jemima Kirke, who mimics the brand’s expressive designs.
Founded by New York City-native Alison Chemla, Alison Lou is a luxury jewelry collection marked by a range of cheeky expressions, including a smiley ‘ROFL,’ ‘Cry Baby’ face, and ‘Party Animal’ hat, among others. The assortment of necklaces, bracelets, interchangeable rings and earrings are crafted in gold with precious stones and hints of enamel. The collection, which officially launched a few weeks ago, is available at Five Story New York. These pieces would make great gifts if you’re still undecided about what to get loved ones!
