London just got a little bit closer! September 10 marked the first day that Topshop expanded it’s reach from across the pond (and a handful of US stores), partnering with select Nordstrom stores to bring their edgy fashion to a wider American audience. I’ve been waiting a long time for this to happen and am so happy to FINALLY have some piece of of this British brand in my backyard.
I spent over two hours in Topshop’s London Flagship store when I visited, which is atypical for me, but I wanted to take the whole experience – three floors of experience – in and indulge my senses. Topshop only has three US stores (NYC, Las Vegas and Chicago…LA will open early next year and there are plans for a Miami and second NYC store ), one of which I’ve been to. The whole time I was at the Chicago store, I kept thinking to myself, “why can’t this be closer to me?” OK, this isn’t exactly what I had in mind, but the fashion gods heard me and I’m not going to complain about it!
I sneaked in a quick visit before meeting friends for dinner (couldn’t resist!), so my time was limited. I purchased two tops and a scarf from the collection and can’t wait to go back to check out the other racks I didn’t have a chance to spend some time with.
Fourteen Nordstrom stores will carry the line (most will carry Topman clothing too, although the SF Centre Store does not). Items will also be available online.
Until next week (and my next obsession)!
