Dear MISSter Simms,
I recently visited my hometown and ran into someone I used to know from high school. That was about 12 years ago, and he was a huge jerk back then. Sometime between then and now, though, he transformed from an annoying boy into a sweet, charming, and very attractive man. We hit it off, and before I left we had sex. In fact, every time I visit my hometown we usually meet up, go out on a date, and wind up back at his place having sex before I return to the city I live in. The only problem is…I’m engaged. In my mind I know that I shouldn’t continue doing what I’m doing, and we’ve even had fights about the situation. But no mater what I tell myself or how bad our arguments get, I still wind up doing things with him. What should I do?
Crazy In Love?
We all have to make hard choices in life. Today, for example, I woke up this morning and had to figure out whether to eat pancakes for breakfast, or eggs. It was nerve wracking, but I did what I had to do. Similarly, you seem to be at a crossroads regarding what to do about your two boos. To me, though, the choice is pretty simple:
Dump your fiance.
Probably not what you expected to hear (read?), but check it. You’ve already cheated on the dude multiple times, so what’s the point in staying with him? Clearly he isn’t fulfilling your needs and desires. Meanwhile you and other dude can’t seem to tear yourselves away from each other. That’s the type of person you need to be with. It’s never awesome to have to break someone’s heart, but at the end of the day your fiance will get over it and you’ll both be better off.
