A.P.C and Nike have teamed up to create a collection of sneakers featuring the Dunk High and Air Max in three ecru, navy and brown. The simple styles and subtle colorways are a signature look for the French brand best known for its cult following for its selvedge denim jeans. Though Nike and A.P.C. have collaborated in the past, this will be the first time the line of sneakers is unisex (finally!).
Jean Touitou of A.P.C. stated:
It will be a unisex collection with the same patterns and colors but in different sizes. It’s all very classic looking, trainers [shoes] that don’t shout too loudly. It will give people the opportunity to wear a trainer with a very chic coat…The reason we are not doing the trainers ourselves is because we don’t have the know-how, Nike does….It’s like I’m not trying to bake bread for myself….I would be very happy to share our fashion instincts with Nike’s technology in other collaborations.
The A.P.C. x Nike collection will be available at 65 A.P.C. store locations as well as apc.fr come August 3oth. The suggested pricing for the Air Max will be $150 for men’s and women’s styles and the Nike Dunk will retail for $130 and $110 for men and women respectively.
I like the simplicity of these styles – my favorite colorway is the navy. Ecru will get dirty way too fast. The brown is ok, but since I wear mostly black I can’t see that working with me. The navy can work with khaki and grey which I also wear a lot. I think regardless of your favorite, there’s a color here that would work with anyone’s wardrobe and I think they are great transitional colors from summer to fall. I’m looking forward to this release!
