M.I.S.S. Techcessories – An iPhone App With A Twist

twist iphone app

Chronically late? There’s an app for that.

Yo, I’ll be there in 5 minutes
5 hours Later, ‘I’ll be there in 5 minutes’

Kanye West rapped those lines on the hidden track “Late” from his 2005 album Late Registration.  Two thousand and five…think about it.  People were still clinging to their Motorla RAZRs back then, smartphones weren’t nearly as ubiquitous as they are now, and the iPhone was still two years away from being introduced and changing the game.  Now a days there’s “an app for that”.  Back then there was an app for nothing.

Fast forward 7 years and you’ll notice that Kanye hasn’t rapped about being late since.  Why?  Because he’s probably got a di-a-mond encrusted pieceiPhone running Twist, an app designed to let people know when you’ve left your house, when you will arrive, if you’re running late and, hopefully, get you to be on time more often.

Say you want to meet up with friends to grab drinks and let off some steam at a bar downtown. Using Twist, you can enter in the bars location and let it know who should receive notifications about your travel progress.  From there the app will send out messages to your chosen contacts to let them know when you’ve left and when you should be arriving.  Should you run into any problems, like say….a gaggle of geese taking their sweet time crossing the road, Twist will notify your friends that there’s been a delay and will change your ETA accordingly.  It’ll send another message when about to arrive to your destination as well.

Twist can even help you out before you’ve even left the house.  If you need to be somewhere at 7pm, it can tell you the best time to leave, update you on traffic data, and tell you the weather so you make sure to go out in your raincoat instead of the one made from imported lemur furs you were originally planning to wear.

Twist is available free in the iTunes App Store right now.
