In the coming weeks, my nail polish collection will significantly increase. The launch of three new collections by OPI and Nicole by OPI means I’ll be changing my nail color more often than every third day as normal. New SofShades, pastels, and shimmers make up the collections, but four Texture Coat polishes are set to hit shelves as well. I can’t wait. Need to put my cotton pads and remover on standby.
New York City Ballet by OPI
Although OPI is known for its highly pigmented lacquers, its SoftShades formula is one of my favorites. The high gloss/slight color polishes are dainty, but still hold-up to everyday wear. Inspired by one of the world’s premiere dance companies, the six polish collection consists of a shade of beige, pink, white, lilac, and gray. A silver sparkly lacquer is included in the collection to add shine and definition to any of the NYCB polishes, but it is solid enough to stand on its own.
The collection is set to launch in April 2012 and retail for $8.50 a bottle.
Wel-Kim to My World
Six new pastels will be added to the Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors nail lacquers in April. The white, pink, blue, and honey tones are a step above the SoftShades when it comes to pigmentation, so she color is subtle. Two of the six feature some type of shimmer or glitter for some added glamour. ‘Here Kim’s the Sun’ is my favorite. Its nude and has glitter. It looks like a disco ball exploded and I love every glitzy drop of it! For only $7.99, its definitely mine.
Four New Nicole by OPI shades, Exclusively for Target
The Nicole by OPI display at my local Target is massive! Its hard enough to choose new colors as is, but come April the decision making process will be even harder. April showers bring May flowers, and these colors are reminiscent of the blooming buds we’ll be seeing very soon. A candy apple red, iridescent lilac, shimmering pink and silvery sparkle make up the collection due to release in March. They’re the perfect transition from the deep Earth tones of the Winter collections. Your nails can blend in with the Spring landscape for $7.04 a shade.
New Nicole by OPI Limited Edition Texture Coats
OPI is known for their effect polishes that give users the ability to re-vamp some of their favorite hues. The four new $7.99 Texture Coats for April are inspired by mother nature’s special gems, literally. Opal, Quartz, Amethyst, and Aquamarine (the polishes, not the stones) add a textured look to any original Nicole by OPI lacquer. Opal Texture is a reflective polish that changes depending on the color its applied on top of. Alone, its similar to mother-of-pearl. Quartz Texture is a metallic taupe/pink shimmer, while the Amethyst and Aquamarine Textures are saturated with purple and blue glitter. To rock the Texture Coats proper, apply them on top of Base Coat Plus and two coats of any Nicole by OPI lacquer. Wait until your first three coats dry completely before adding texture and voila!
