Ask MISSter Simms: Do I Nag Too Much?

Do I Nag Too Much?

If all your boyfriend hears is the Charlie Brown teacher voice...you might be a nag

Dear MISSter Simms,

The other day my live in boyfriend tells me that I’m kind of mean and that I get mad too easily over little things, and there have been times where he’s held back in the affection department because of it.  I admit that I like things done a certain way, especially when it comes to house cleaning, and when my standards aren’t met I’m not afraid to let people know.  It’s better to express your feelings than keep them bottled up inside, right?  My boyfriend doesn’t feel the same way, though, because he says he has to walk on eggshells when he’s around me.  I don’t want anyone walking all over me, but what do I do?

Am I Too Naggy?

Here’s what you need to do.  Sit down, drink some tea, watch The Daily Show, and STOP TRIPPIN’.  For one thing life is too short to be sweating the small stuff.  For another all that trippin’ isn’t going to do anything but raise your blood pressure and make your boo start to resent you.  Guys hate getting nagged by their girls.  Guys really hate getting nagged by their girls when they live with them.  Why?  Because it takes us back to our childhood living with our mothers and being told what to do and how to do it.  My advice is to just turn the anger down a notch and enjoy your boyfriend for who he is.  After all, that’s why you fell in love with him and decided to share a space together, right?
