Happy New Year!
Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday I was writing a post about my resolutions for 2011. This year seemed to pass by in the blink of an eye, although I do admit that it took a good bit to get going. For me, 2011 was the first time in a long time that felt like a “normal” year. The last four years have been full of trauma – professional and personal – and 2011 was the year that I finally got in front of all of that and rediscovered who I was, what made me happy and put my life back together the way I wanted it. That sounds like a simple thing, but it’s a lot harder to do when events happen unexpectedly that are outside your control.
The highlight of my year was crossing the pond and visiting London for the first time. I had an amazing time and am planning to return in the spring. I made serious headway on my writing project (which I’m still plugging away on) and can’t wait to write every day. I’ve connected with other writers and now have a support system around me that I didn’t have before and didn’t think I needed. But, like many things in life, those things that you don’t think you need often become the things that keep you going.
In short, 2011 was incredible. I’ve laid the groundwork for 2012 to be that much better. I can’t wait to see what this new year brings.
Best wishes for an eventful and adventurous 2012. Cheers!
Until next week (and my next obsession)!
