Chicago-based artist DZINE has released Nailed, a history of nail culture through Standard Press, the publishing imprint of The Standard Hotels. Nailed recounts the history of nail adornment and documents contemporary nail art around the world, including the artist’s own creations. The 192-page hardcover book, features an introduction by Kim Hastreiter, co-founder and editor of Paper Magazine, and includes contributions from Luis Gispert, Yonehara Yasuma, Jamel Shabazz, Mickalene Thomas and Fab Five Freddy and of course, yours truly – MISS!
We are so honored and excited to be included amongst DZINE’s work. You can see some of our best sneaker/manicure pairings from the MISS 2008 and MISS 2009 calendars. You can purchased Nailed through The Standard Shops or online at ShopTheStandard.com through February 1st. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!
