The Golden Globes were last night and sadly, I missed the red carpet entrances – gasp! I did play some catch up online and there weren’t that many horrible looks but there were very few looks that I actually got excited about. It seems that as far as color trends go there were three main camps: nudes/blush, black/grey and jewel tones. The jewel tones were lovely and I guess it makes sense since color blocking and brights are really popular right now. My two favorite looks happened to be worn by the ladies of Modern Family (love that show!).
Julie Bowen wore Reem Acra and my only comment is that I wish the dress were a different shade – one of my pet peeves is when the dress color is too close to the person’s skin color who is wearing the dress – it all blends in too much. That said, the dress is really pretty and I love her old Hollywood styling. My absolute favorite of the night – as in “I want to wear that dress” – was worn by Sarah Hyland. Her vintage Dolce & Gabbana lace gown was gorgeous. Apparently her zipper broke on the red carpet and she had to be sewn into the dress but no matter. She looked great and I wouldn’t mind this dress – broken zipper or not! Who wore your favorite looks?
