Oh the cruel games fashion plays. The worst being, just as the weather begins to change designers begin showing off their summer and spring designs to the delight and frustration of most. Well not many summer/spring look books have pissed me off more than CTRL’s SS12 “The Animal Chin” collection. The collection holds true to the CRTL spirit, ever clever, fun and rebellious. When looking for inspiration, the CTRL crew went to to a few sources for this collection: Inspiration came from the 80s skate film The Search for Animal Chin, Paul McCartney, the art of t-shirt, Amore mio, Chinagirl, Eric Dolphy, sumoi as hell, wildlife on TV and the beastly Wall Street bull – just to name a few.
Some of my CTRL favorites are reinvented here like the “I Love Ono” shirts and their amazing chunky knits. The mini leopard print reigns supreme on t-shirt trimmings, jeans and bags. A nice attention to the tom-boy heavy collection were mess leggings and the short short sweater dresses, for that peak of skin here and there.
CTRL’s summer spring 2012 collection isn’t available yet, soo very frustrating. Once they are available you will be able to get them straight from the horse’a mouth at CTRL’s online store or at the usual suspects of favorite shopping online stores.
