Here’s some brand spanking new beauty news for all you nail polish junkies reading . . . OPI has just announced the re-launch of the OPI Application for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The new app offers an easy way to browse and search over 200 OPI nail lacquer shades – for free! One of the coolest features is the Try It On Color Studio, which highlights shades from the current collection in stores and salons. The app also boasts an internal search engine that retrieves retired shades and enables smart phones users to scroll through favorites from the past.
This app utilizes hi-res photos of the polish colors, and even allows users to adjust skin tone to get a better sense of how it will look when applied. The best update made to the app is the new capability to have it running in the background while surfing on the web and checking updates on Twitter and Facebook.
“The improved OPI App gives fans the chance to try on lacquers easier than before. The App’s Try It On Studio has been hugely popular, and we are happy to improve upon and expand it. It’s a great resource when choosing your lacquer at the salon, since you can get an idea of how a color looks on your hand before committing,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The portable nature of the OPI App makes it easy to take while shopping and choose a lacquer shade to accessorize any new dress, top or jacket right there in the store!”
Once you’ve found a shade of polish you like, you can even go ahead and save it within the application for future reference at home or in the salon. I’m personally a fan of OPI’s Shrek Forever After collection from a couple of years ago. This application is great for when you get your nails done and fall in love with a color. Instead of scrambling to remember it next time, search for it in this handy little app and you’ll never forget it again.
The OPI App is available at apple.com and is free to download. It runs on all iPhone and iPod Touch devices using software update iOS 5.
