Nails Did: Nailphilia, London’s First Nail Art Exhibition

Who said galleries were only for paintings and sculptures? They lied. As ladies we have ten individual canvases attached to us. Thats right, your nails girl! DegreeArt and Sweet Squared recognized the importance of our permanent fashion accessories and dedicated an art exhibition specifically for them. ‘Nailphilia’ is London’s first nail art show and it features polish and nail accessory art from some London nail tech heavy hitters and major fashion names.

Sam Biddle

The work of world-renowned nail technicians like Marian Newman, Sam Biddle, Mike Pocock, Megumi Mizuno, Antony Buckley, Jenny Longworth, Sue Marsh, Kirsty Meakin, The Illustrated Nail, and MISS Woman Making History, Sophy Robson is featured alongside the creations of artists. Now this isn’t a room full of nails glued to those tacky rubber hands. Oh no ma’am. There is photography, installation pieces, films, and books all dedicated to nail culture.

If you’re in London, or will be visiting soon, be sure to stop by’s Execution Room and have a look!
