Backstage with Shiseido at Zero + Maria Cornejo, I got the chance to observe Artistic Director Dick Page and his team of make-up artists transform all of the models from the ground up. The focus for Spring/Summer 2012 was really on the eyes – the artists were using the Shimmering Cream Eye Colors in Sable (BR709), Leather (BR306), and Mist (pearl cream eye shadow) to enhance the eyes. This was all done without the help of mascara, as the focus was the dramatic eyeliner, Shiseido Makeup Accentuating Cream Eyeliner in black. Lips were done in a muted color, called Shiseido Makeup Shimmering Rouge Lipstick in Butterscotch, and cheeks were decorated using Shiseido Makeup Luminizing Satin Face Color in Tea Rose (RS302) with a highlighter called Luminizing Satin Face Color in Soft Beam Gold (BE206) applied very high up on the cheek, very close to the eye area. Below I will provide a step-by-step guide to achieve this look
-Use eye color Sable and with the fluff brush, apply color from the lash line all the way up to the eyebrow, blending well
-Use a white cream eye shadow and apply to center of eye
-Line the eyes with black cream eyeliner, and the inside of the eye near the water duct area to get a dramatic, sharp line
-Use eye color in Leather from the Fall collection, and apply it underneath the eye at the lash line
-Use a rose-colored blush with a gold highlighter and apply it very high up (past the cheek area), close to the eye area
-Finish off lips with new Shiseido lipstick Butterscotch from the Spring line. Dab this on lips for a soft and diffuse lip effect. Go for neutral and muted!
