Since the weather is changing, sometimes you wake up in the morning not knowing what to wear. August has been very tricky in New York the past week. It might be cooler in the morning then feel like summer again by lunch time. If you’re stuck in a fashion rut, I’ve thought of some key pieces from summer that you can ease into fall.
1. Denim Shorts
I love shorts more than pants so I try to keep wearing them for as long as I can without seeming ridiculous. Wearing high boots or throwing some tights underneath lets you have the warmth you might need when it gets chilly outside.
2. Floral Dress
You can take your favorite summer dress and wear it with a denim jacket and boots or oxfords instead of sandals. Floral dresses are so girly and feminine. A leather jacket could edge it out.
3. Crop Top
Just because it’s getting colder doesn’t mean you have to cover up everything. Pair your crop tops from Coachella with jeans or relaxed pants like Rihanna. Her look is definitely something I can see girls wearing at a mixer during fashion week.
4. Maxi Dress
Maxi dresses are definitely summery however you can get away with wearing them a little while longer if you throw on a denim jacket, cropped blazer or leather jacket on top. It’s a fun, relaxed casual look that’s very comfortable yet put together.
