This summer Vans launches the Make Your Mark campaign; promoting individuality and self expression. Vans Make Your Mark encourages women to put their stamp on the world and express herself through art, music, clothes or any artistic medium she picks on her journey.
Make Your Mark launched as a Southern California road trip with independent film maker, Tracy Antonopoulos, and Clara Balzary, budding photographer and drummer of Grand Rapids. The two traveled from Malibu to the Salton Sea, creating art along the way with unconventional mediums like discarded objects they found on the road. The two documented the creation of the installations they left behind as anthropological proof that women create.
The culmination of Make Your Mark took place Saturday, June 25th, at Vans’ east coast cultural hub, The House of Vans in Brooklyn. The event turned Vans’ warehouse into part of a large DYI instillation, where the over 1,000 present left their mark on walls, couches, and mirrors. A tie-dye station was available for attendees to personalize their own Vans. With food trucks, live music, and Legendary Joshua Light show, the event had something for everyone to feel inspire to create their own mark wherever they go.
