If you’re anything like me, you’re the chick in the cosmetic store getting the evil eye from store personnel for ‘sampling’ the nail polish colors. Don’t front. We’ve all opened and tested various shades of nail lacquers. Whether you tested on your own naked nails or found a random white surface to decorate, you know you’re guilty too. Well thanks to the goof folks over at Apple, we no longer need to sample in fear. The technology powerhouse joined forces with nail polish brands, nail artists, and nail salon owners to bring a slew of instruction giving, polish testing, salon locating applications to us lacquer fiends.
Although there are tons of nail apps in various languages in the Apple App Store, I’ve selected a few faves:
-OPI and Nicole by OPI (Free): Ever wondered what a color would look like on your nails? These apps allow you to find out. You are able to change the skin tone on a sample hand and try on various shades from the OPI and Nicole by OPI lineups.
-Nail Art DIY ($1.99): Whether a veteran at this nail ish or a rookie to the game, this app gives you step-by-step instructions and images for those complicated looking nail decorations.
-Nail Dryer (Free): No, the app won’t make your top coat set faster. This app actually resembles the UV lamps you depend on to dry your fingers and tootsies. It’s entertainment only ladies.
-EDGE Nails (Free): Nail care product shopping is either difficult or a pain for most. EDGE makes purchasing professional products as easy as clicking on you iPhone screen. The UK based company has everything from top coats to nail activator spray.
-iNails ($0.99): The one stop shop for nail apps! iNails allows you to match colors, share your collection, and keep track of which polishes you have. OPI, Essie, Misa, Orly, Deborah Lippmann, and Nicole by OPI are all included in this nail polish encyclopedia. The built in camera feature also allows you to snap a pic of an item and match the item to a nail polish by one of the featured brands. Nice!
