With the spring season soon coming to a close, now is the perfect time to start planning your summer vacations. If you’re an avid music lover like myself, you might want to keep in mind the enormous amount of summer concerts and music festivals on the horizon. Fresh off the heels of Coachella come a ton of live performances destined to attract music lovers of every genre. We here at M.I.S.S. have complied a list of some of the hottest summer music festivals from all around the country that are sure to come complete with massive crowds, sweltering heat, and kick ass performances! Get your suitcases ready because this list truly contains something for everybody!

The Sasquatch! Music Festival

The Sasquatch! Music Festival (May 27-30th)

The Sasquatch! Music Festival will be featuring a monster collection of bands for Memorial Day weekend (May 27-30) at the Gorge Amphitheatre. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the outdoor festival will feature sets from the Foo Fighters, the Decemberists, Robyn, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Local Natives, Matt & Kim, Sleigh Bells, Das Racist, Flying Lotus, Major Lazer, Chromeo, Best Coast and many more! The festival will be held in George, Washington near the beautiful Columbia River and tickets are on sale now!

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival (June 9 -12th)

Also celebrating its 10th anniversary this year is the legendary Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. The annual four-day camping and music festival will be held June 9 -12th on a beautiful 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee. The 2011 lineup features over 125 bands and over 20 comedians performing on 13 stages over four days! The eclectic mix scheduled performers include Eminem, Arcade Fire, Wiz Khalifa, Loretta Lynn, Girl Talk, Ratatat, Robyn, Florence + the Machine, Lil’ Wayne, The Black Keys, Deerhunter and many more! Northside Music Festival

Northside Music Festival (June 16-19th)

The 2011 Northside Music Festival will be held June 16-19th at various venues throughout Williamsburg and Greenpoint Brooklyn, NY. This event is for all ages and will feature performances by Theophilus London, Grouplove, Allo Darlin’, Lucky Dragons, Takka Takka, Blondes, Janka Nabay, Holiday Shores, Eternal Summers and many more!

Pitchfork Music Festival

Pitchfork Music Festival (July 15 -17th)

If you’re a big fan of indie and electronic music, the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival is the place to be! The annual music fest takes place Friday, July 15th through Sunday, July 17th at Union Park in Chicago, IL. Scheduled performers include Animal Collective, James Blake, Das Racist, Curren$y, DJ Shadow, The Dismemberment Plan, Destroyer, No Age, Gang Gang Dance, Zola Jesus, Twin Shadow, Toro Y Moi, OFWGKTA and many more! Three day passes are sold out, but there’s still a chance to buy one day tickets now!


Lollapalooza 2011 (August 5-7th)

One of the biggest music festivals of the summer would definitely have to be Lollapalooza 2011. Lolly is celebrating 20 years on the music scene and is even going international with Lollapalooza Chile. The annual event is taking place August 5-7 at Grant Park in Chicago, IL. The line-up is crazy and jam packed with some of the hottest names in music! Scheduled performers include Lykke Li, Coldplay, Atmosphere, Mayer Hawthorne, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Nas, Kid Cudi, Jay Electronica, Sleigh Bells, Ryan Leslie, Girl Talk, The Cold War Kids, Cee Lo Green, Afrojack and many many more! Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival

Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival (August 12 - 14th)

The Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival is set to take place in San Francisco’s historic Golden Gate Park August 12-14th. MGMT, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Little Dragon, Lyrics Born, Lateef, Muse, Collie Buddz, Latryx, OK Go!, Sia and many more are slated to perform. Travel packages and tickets are on sale now!

HARD Summer Music Festival

HARD Summer Music Festival (August 6, 2011)

The fourth annual HARD Summer Music Festival will return to the Los Angeles State Historic Park on Saturday, August 6th, 2011. The 32-acre festival grounds are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles and will hold four stages to accommodate its massive amount of performers. The lineup features Duck Sauce, Chromeo, Odd Future, Holy Ghost!, Juan McLean, Shit Robot, Gaslamp Killer, and many more! Tickets are on sale now!
