The Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star is the perfect example of an American staple sneaker. The silhouette has been around since the 1960s and has withstood the test of time. My grandpa still wears Chucks and so do I. Over the past couple years Converse has teamed up with Italian fashion house Missoni to provide sneaker lovers a Converse with a kick. The collaboration is a limited edition release and comes in a women’s and unisex colorway. This year’s releases are the third collaboration between the two powerhouses.
An iconic Missoni space-dyed knit serves as the material for the two horizontal striped Taylors. The women’s sneaker is a trilogy of aqua green, purple, and black with a white leather tongue. The unisex release is an array of red, blue, green, and yellow with a navy tongue.
Now, these aren’t your average Chucks. These babies are laced in high-quality materials with the Missoni stamp of approval. A $200 fee comes along with these bad boys, but they are well worth the cash. Trust. They’ll be available in March at Missoni boutiques (NYC and Beverly Hills), Aloha Rag (NYC), Canvas (Malibu), & Jeffrey’s (NYC and ATL). The unisex shoe comes in sixes 3-13 and the women’s shoe is available in sizes 5-11.
I actually want to give them a test drive. I hear this collabo has a reputation for being ultra comfy. Actually, I do need a new pair of sneaks. What do you ladies think?
