My Latest Obession: St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day

It’s that time of year again, when I hunt through my closet to find something green to wear for St. Patrick’s Day. I actually love green as a color, and can wear candy apple green and army green quite well, but, like every other color, I have more items in accessory and makeup form than I do in clothing. As such, this week, I’m obsessing over different ways to play up adding green to your wardrobe without having that green be an obvious piece (shirt, skirt, leggings, etc). I hope the following items inspire a little Irish in you this week!

Accessories:

Where to start with this one! Luckily, green is a great color for spring, so you’ve got plenty of options available to you if you just look around. On a quest for some silver and gold bangles, I came across these Lacquered Flower Disk Earrings at Forever 21. They’ll be great with a tailored button-down, cardigan or tank and a pair of jeans. Already got your earrings covered? How about this Lawn Leather wrap bracelet from Chan Luu, this handy dandy bottle opener ring (ok, I know it’s not green, but I couldn’t resist!), or this antique-inspired Green Oval Ring by Sorelli? I’m big scarf fan and quickly fell in LOVE with this Japanese Leaf Shawl from Virginia Johnson while cruising around ShopStyle.com. Last, but not least, don’t forget your feet! Why not slip on these gorgeous Diesel green leather sandals? You might still get a pinch, but for a totally different reason!

Makeup:

My favorite new makeup, hands down, is the Wonder Woman collection at MAC. I’d love every piece in the collection, but since this is a St. Patty’s Day post, go out and grab the Wonder Woman Opulash in Army of Amazons. If you’re looking for high-pigment eyeshadows, I highly recommend Urban Decay‘s Deluxe Eyeshadow in Graffiti. Yes, it’s bold and bright, but it’s also one of those colors that will complement any eye color. Make sure you top of any look that you’re going for this St. Patty’s Day by making sure you paint your fingernails and toenails something very close to this brilliant peacock metallic green nail varnish by Illamasqua. Even if you’re covered head to toe in black, there’s no way that this color could go unnoticed. Put a couple coats on and have a great night out!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Until next week (and my next obsession)!
