When it comes to a woman’s beauty regimen, either you’re doing it right or you’re not doing it at all. L’Bel is one company dedicated to finding the perfect beauty routine for any woman, no matter the age or lifestyle. When L’Bel invited M.I.S.S. into their suite for an exclusive beauty event, we could not pass on the opportunity. Located in the swanky Financial District of downtown San Francisco, L’Bel USA has come a long way from the founding lands of Peru. With a heavy following in Central and South America, L’Bel is quickly growing in the States. Their complete line of skin care, beauty products, and fragrances, all manufactured in Paris, are so diverse that ladies from any country can find something to incorporate into their daily life.
After some very friendly introductions, I was led by John Krites to the Skin Diagnostics machine. I had no idea what I was getting into, but was happy to be the first guest to try it out. There, 5 different diodes, probes, cameras, and the like, were linked up to a computer to read levels of oiliness, moisturization, lines, pores, and even elasticity. The protocol almost had a science experiment, alien-abduction type of vibe, but the results they give you are far from foreign. Each test takes a snapshot of your skin and measures your levels, giving you a realistic picture of what your skin looks like. This technology amazed me, and I was quite impressed to learn that this experience is exclusive to L’Bel.
According to my findings, I’m more on the oily side, with more hydration on my right side than my left. Why would it be uneven like that? John explained that simply driving in the car can expose your skin to more sun, causing an uneven amount of hydration in your face. Wow, I never would have guessed without this diagnosis, but it makes total sense.
The five diagnostics allowed John to select skin care products that would help my conditions, and he even suggested other products that would help for concerns that might pop up with age and exposure, like sunspots and fine lines. He first suggested the Essential Cleansers for Oily Skin. He allowed me to try L’Bel’s moisturizer, the Hydra Calme, which felt light and airy on my skin, but yet provided just the right amount of moisture. To combat my oily t-zone, he suggested Essential Toner for Oily Skin, a mattifying lotion toner. This product contains micro-powder and silica, which left my skin without a trace of shine. You can actually shake the bottle to activate the powders with the liquid. I really liked this toner and how it made my skin feel so smooth. I would never have guessed I can powder while using toner!
Before I browsed through the other products, I just had to tweet to tell the world about my experience with the Skin Diagnostics machine. Then, I took a moment to stop to try the signature drink for the evening, the Blueberry Caprioska. It contained muddled blueberries, an important antioxidant-rich ingredient that is proven to reduce the signs of aging. How appropriate for this beauty event, and how tasty it was to drink! The rest of the food spread spoiled me, with Meyer Ranch sliders, Vietnamese salad rolls, Chanterelle mushroom crostinis, and artisan cheeses and crackers. No event is ever complete without dessert, and the mini S’more cupcakes really topped it off.
I spent the rest of the evening looking through the spread of beauty products, everything from fragrances, both for men and women, to hair products, to cosmetics. One product that intrigued me was Concentré Total, one of L’Bel’s top sellers. This is the crème de la crème of their skin care line, not only because of its luxuriously-crafted jar, but also because it combats all the signs of aging at once, all in a moisturizing cream. After 4 weeks, studies showed a significant increase in hydration, luminosity, and decrease in the appearance of wrinkles. L’Bel also has products that specifically target signs of aging, like wrinkles and thinning skin, but Concentre Total takes care of it all in one product. I can’t wait to try this out.
The makeup line covered everything needed to make you feel even more beautiful, from eyeliners, nail colors, lipsticks and glosses, and compacts containing powders and shadows. I tried out a long-lasting lipstick, the Couleur Luxe Infini XP, and it felt smooth and velvety on my lips. After another cocktail and a few more bites to eat, my lip color stayed put. This is a product I can definitely see using because I’m notorious for rocking a lip color and forgetting to check it out throughout the night.
I also loved the Expressive XP eye shadow quartets. The shadows are all so rich and beautifully combined in a convenient compact. The combinations are so complimentary to each other that many looks can be created with just one compact, but I can see a woman wanting to own the whole collection, because I know that I would love to have all that in my kit!
The night ended with a few more tweets and plenty of heartfelt hugs. I received a travel bag filled with a few products to try out. I can’t wait to share how I’ve incorporated these products into my beauty regimen. Check back later for reviews on that.
The complete line of L’Bel products of can be purchased on their website, or through the growing number of beauty advisors found throughout the country.
Many thanks to Danielle for inviting M.I.S.S. to this fabulous event.
