It was the second year that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was held at Lincoln Center, and in general, it ran much more smoothly than it did last year. The Fashion GPS system worked for me without any glitches, and the staff herding the seating and standing lines were much more informed about the layout of Lincoln Center.
Seen and Heard:
There seemed to be fewer “stars” attending the shows and milling about the tents with the commoners this year. Interesting people I met/saw at Lincoln Center:
Kristina Uriegas-Reyes of Monk Vintage Thrift Shop and The Rebel Waltz blog (www.therebelwaltz.blogspot.com) – Kristina had a cute vintage sweater on, and even caught the attention of Robert Verdi while he was doing interviews.
Brittany Deshields (www.brittanydeshields.com) – She was showing off a bright yellow petticoat she designed herself from her B Des collection.
Anna Bassham of ShoeHunting (www.shoehunting.com) – a nice one among the mean girl fashionistas.
Michael Jasonos of the Fur-Z (http://awardspool.com/fur-z/) – The funniest contact I made of all. The Fur-Z is a “fur lined sports jersey complete with a real fur trimmed hood, plush interior, deep warm pockets and a zipper front. The ultimate in luxury sporting apparel for the ultimate sports fan.” I asked him if I could get a Clyde Frazier Knicks jersey customized with “Precocious Neophyte” on the back of it, and he kinda gave me a blank stare. I guess he doesn’t watch the Knicks.
