This post is long overdue – a little thing called New York Fashion Week happened. I was really excited about INSA’s show because it meant I would finally get to meet him. You may remember MISS worked with INSA on an editorial a while back when he debuted his shoe collection: Le Rétifisme d’Insa. All of our correspondence had been via email so it was nice to finally put a face to the art.
The first thing you notice when you walk into the gallery is INSA’s signature black and white stripes. His pieces have evolved and I loved his paintings that incorporated LED lights. In addition to paintings, the show included a resin and fiberglass sculpture, photographs and prints. My favorite piece is the one pictured above – a painting of a woman’s feet with the outline of stilettos in LED lights. I love seeing an artist’s work progress and I can’t wait to see where INSA’s art takes him.
