My Latest Obsession: Holiday Party Dresses

Now that the holiday season is off to an official start, and your shopping bug is in full effect with Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, it’s time to start thinking about what to wear to those holiday parties that are looming on the horizon. My first party this year is for my company holiday party, which will be in early December. There’s been talk around the office about how dressed up the ladies are going to get, and since I will use any excuse to get dressed up, I’m leading the charge (and shopping the stores) to show up in my holiday best.

I’m LOVING the Lanvin collection for H&M. Usually, my holiday party dresses are either black, darker in tone, or have some sparkle on them, but the bold color of the collection (although you will definitely find some amazing LBDs in the line) is difficult to resist. My two favorites from the collection are the bold one shoulder ruffle yellow dress and the bright pink ruffled dress. You’re sure to be noticed wherever you go in those!

I was also pleasantly surprised by the range of dresses at Saks Fifth Avenue. I found several pieces that would easily go into a staple of dresses, that could go beyond the holiday season. I love mod, geometric patterns, so I fell in love with this ABS sequined dress. I’m also quite fond of this BCBGMaxAzria sequined tiered dress, since I don’t have a lot of curves, and it it gives the illusion of having them.

Mango‘s collection is also worth checking out for those on more of a budget. I’d love to splurge on this sequined dress (especially if I was Olivia Palermo), but the Cloti dress and this  ballerina-inspired dress will get you to the party without breaking the bank. For a different look, spend your hard earned dollars on something like this feather skirt and pair it with that black jacket already hanging in your closet.

Lastly, Anthropologie’s collection adds a bit of sweetness to the typical holiday dress fare. The chiffon Curving Cloudcover dress and the Spinning Lace dress are both vintage in feel, but modern in styling. They are definitely worth investing in, as you’ll be sure to find yourself the belle of the ball in them for years to come.

Cheers to the holidays, beautiful!

Until next week (and my next obsession)!
