Lindsay Jo Holmes and her team at Maple XO has been crafting women’s jewelry out of old and broken skateboards for the past five years. Now they’re branching out and teaming up with environmentally conscious iPhone case maker Grove on a limited run of iPhone 4 cases. Grove traditionally uses bamboo to construct their cases. Here they’re swapping it out and making the cases out of Maple XOs colorful recycled skateboards. It requires gluing up to 10 or more decks together perfectly. The dyed layers are totally random, providing a unique combination of colors every time. The case will be limited to only 50 pieces, and they’re expected to release sometime within the new few months.
