Forward! March! This Fall women are channeling their inner Cadet. Military inspired garbs have been popping up left and right on New York Fashion Week runways. Top designers featured marching jackets, cargo pants, brass buttons, and oversized pockets on their ready-to-wear garments.

Earth tones and big buttons are at the forefront of this style. Oscar de la Renta used the uniform green tone in a waist length jacket with oversized pockets in his collection. Burberry chose to line the front of a navy, knee length pea coat with beautiful brass buttons. Balmain took the cake with their flawless marching jacket. Its to die for!

Thanks to this trend, active duty doesnt necessarily mean war. You can be on the front line of fashion trends by incorporating a little military flare into your everyday wear. Skinny cargos are a easy way to make serious look sexy. Pair with a nice v-neck and jackets and you’re set. Oversized military shirts are another alternative. They look great with a pair of leggings and either desert boots or a simple heel. Cute and comfy.

If you’re not a fan of clothing the color of mud or moss but still want the military look, you’re in luck. Ludlam released a pack of badge-esque pins that can add a touch of authority to any top or outerwear. Another dope alternative I stumbled upon is a rose gold bullet necklace by Max & Chloe. I’m logging on to order mine right now!

So whether its a rainy day of errands or a hot dinner date, military inspired fashions are on this season’s trend list. So, follow orders and march your tail in line. Or else!
