♥♥ “Don’t worry if I write rhymes. I write checks.” That’s the message in Ed Banger artist Uffie’s latest song and video, “Difficult.” Using those infamous lines from a Diddy verse, Uffie’s latest single from her debut album, Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans is a super catchy pop song produced by French dance king SebastiAn.
♥♥ “Industry rule #4,080: record company people are shady!” Well at least according to A Tribe Called Quest and most recently Lupe Fiasco and his fans they are. The battle still continues to release his highly anticipated, third studio album, Lasers. According to Lupe, the album has been finished for over 2 years now. However, the public has yet to get their hands on it. In an effort to get Atlantic Records to release the album, a protest by his fans is scheduled outside of the record company’s offices in New York on October 15th. News of the protest may have now had some effect on a new release date of March 2011.
♥♥ Speaking of delays, it’s true that they’re not always such a bad thing, ya know? Baltimore native and N.E.E.T./Interscope recording artist Rye Rye‘s debut album, Go! Pop! Bang! was delayed because the artist gave birth to a baby girl in late 2009. She’s now back with a new single, “Sunshine” featuring musical mentor M.I.A. and a new release date of January 2011 for the album. Check out the video for “Sunshine” below!
♥♥ Some pretty amazing female vocalists will appear on the soundtrack to Tyler Perry’s film, “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf.” New and unreleased music from Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings, Estelle, Janelle Monàe and Nina Simone will be included. The “For Colored Girls” official soundtrack drops on November 2nd. The film hits movie theaters on November 5th.
♥♥ While the rest of Little Dragon is back in Gothenburg, Sweden putting the finishing touches on their newly recorded album, Yukimi Nagano and Fredrik Wallin are currently on the road with the Gorillaz featuring tour dates in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand!
