Fall’s fresh faces are in full effect this year. For the shows during the Fall 2010 Fashion Weeks, gorgeous, glowing skin was the focus, while the rest of the face was kept neutral, with groomed brows and the slightest bit of “naked” shades for the eyes. Lips were tinted with muted hues of peach and pink, allowing the natural lip color to peek through. With the absence of a heavily defined cheek (no blush or bronzer), this look is perfect for those with little time or who shy away from color on the face (much like myself).
To achieve the look, tinted moisturizer (used in the place of foundation) will cover redness and imperfections without looking too “made up”. Benefit Cosmetics You Rebel Tinted Moisturizer (*shown above in You Rebel Lite-for fair skin) offers even complexion coverage with SPF 15 and Vitamins A and E. Apply sparingly, using fingertips or a brush. Tinted moisturizers are best worn without powder on top, in order to achieve that dewy, fresh faced glow. Flesh toned colors for eyes can range all the way from vanilla to deep browns. The Naked Palette from Urban Decay offers a full range of eyeshadows (Virgin, Naked, and Buck are my favorite colors) and includes two 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils in Zero and Whiskey (perfect for LIGHTLY rimming the lower lash line with, for definition) and UD’s iconic Eyeshadow Primer Potion. To keep the overall feel monochromatic, Nars Pure Matte Lipsticks in Bangkok (soft rose), Tashkent (nude beige), and Tonkin (cinnamon plum) are infused with Wild Mango Butter, leaving the lips supple and moisturized. Top off with a barely there coat of mascara and VOILA! Perfectly pared down for Fall!
