♥♥ The always stunning, always outrageous Lady Gaga racked up a total of 8 moon men at The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, including the coveted “Video of the Year” award for instant classic “Bad Romance.” This accomplishment brings her career total to 11 wins! That’s pretty impressive considering that she has only been around for about two years now. In addition to winning awards for her musical talents, she also picked up the style award for the night as well. Her various costume changes were head-turning, eye-popping, and visually stunning! She opened the evening on the VMA white carpet with a dress by the late designer Alexander McQueen. Later that evening, she wore a heavy, black, gothic-inspired gown that was “difficult” to move in. She finished the night in the now infamous Franc Fernandez-designed meat dress. The 4o-pound dress, which came with accompanying accessories, was made of real meat and drew the criticism of animal-rights groups such as Peta and some VMA guests as well. Word on the street is that Pop star Ke$ha wanted to arrive on the back of a glitter-covered lion, but was afraid he might have mistaken Gaga for a meal. Get the inside scoop from the designer himself on Gaga’s infamous “meat dress” on MTV.com, including that burning question we all want to know: What did the dress smell like?
♥♥ Taylor Swift is known for using her real-life experiences as song inspirations. With this in mind, it should have come as no surprise that she would write a song about last year’s VMA fiasco that involved Kanye West stealing the mic during her acceptance speech. The Pop star remained pretty mum about the situation up until the night of the VMAs where she chose to debut her song “Innocent”, clearly directed towards Mr. West and the events of last year’s show. While some fans thought that her performance was classy and dignified, others thought it was just a tad dramatic and unnecessary. Personally, I’m glad Taylor Swift chose to forgive, but I wish she would have chosen to forget also. What do you think? Read the shots fired lyrics to Taylor Swift’s “Innocent” on her blog.
