Seems like it was just a year ago that Canon released it’s extremely beloved Powershot S90 that every one went ape poo over…probably because it was just a year ago. And now the company is all ready to unleash the S90’s successor in the form of the Powershot S95, a camera that takes everything people loved about the previous version and makes it +5 better (hence the new name). Like the S90 before it, the S95 packs a ton of high level manual features in an ultra compact, sexy little point and shoot body. There the same high sensitivity 10-megapixel CCD coupled with a wide f/2.0 lens and Canon’s DIGIC 4 image processor that enhances picture quality and reduces noises at higher ISO levels without the need for a flash. There’s also the same control ring system that made the previous version so intuitive and easy to use. However, some very notable differences between the S95 and its predecessor include a Hybrid IS image stabilization system to help with macro shots (a first in any Canon camera), a new high dynamic range mode, HD video recording at 720p, and mini HDMI to playback those videos on your HDTV.
It’ll be available later this month for $399.99.
