When I first walked into the Roxy booth, I wanted to kick off my shoes. The plush carpet and grassy decorations made it feel like I was at the beach, and the comfy couches, throw pillows, and colorful rugs invited me in for a relaxing time. But there was no time to relax just yet, because Roxy dominates in the girl’s surf world, and since this was ASR, you know there was much to show!
There were a few models wearing some of the newest looks, including the “Fakie”, a board short that had me doing a double take. I was told that they were a board short, but when the model stood up, I swear I was seeing a destructed denim cut-off. But no, when I looked closer, they were indeed a board short. The holes and shreds looked completely real, as did the denim, but when you felt the fabric, it was definitely an easy-wearing pair of shorts for the surf.
These shorts are the trending highlight of the collection, but believe that Roxy has so many more board shorts so you won’t get bored. Roxy has you covered, and for Spring 2011, they’re taking it back to their beach heritage by offering a more technical short with a 4-way stretch and a no-rash Diamond Dobby material. I personally wore a pair of Roxy board shorts when I went surfing the day before and there were no complaints at all. And I don’t even think those short featured the Diamond Dobby technology!
The swim collection has too many cute styles and cuts to feature all here. Expect to see polka dots, stripes, brights, and black and whites.
The apparel department had plenty of beach friendly clothing, including comfortable cuts in dresses, tops, and tanks. I noticed a lot of soft, lightweight clothing, and more burnout fabrics. I particularly love the bold prints and colors, like the dress worn by the model below and a hot pink super soft hoodie with a cute heart zipper pull.
Roxy has more of the beach in mind, introducing the “Cruiser” slip-on shoe that fits as comfortable as a sandal. Its super flexible outsole twists, folds, and bends, making it easy to wear and even easier to carry in your beach bag. Another style of slip-on features a nautical, boat style look in a springy seersucker and other plaid prints. So totally spring and perfect for the beach.
But once you hit the sands, you’ll want to kick off your shoes and throw on some flip flops. Check out the different styles and colors. I love the striped black and white pair!
Roxy has your feet covered for Spring 2011, and in case Spring doesn’t look as sunny as you’d like, check out these laced rain boots. The designs match some pieces from the clothing collection, so you can mix and match your boots to your fit.
Roxy has what you need from head to toe, from shades to sandals. Whatever you need for a day at the beach, just throw it in the bag and go!
Ladies, that was only a small sample of what’s in store for Spring from Roxy. It was so much to see, I definitely needed a break. After leaving the appointment, I tapped into that easy-going beach vibe to get some R&R. I sat with some other girls in the front of the booth to make some braided feather necklaces. This was by far the most relaxation I’ve had during all of ASR, and the best part was having a special souvenir that I made to show off. Two craft stations were set up outside of the booth, each complete with couches, faux suede strings, feathers, and beads. All it took was some braiding, beading, and taping, and I left with a couple of feathery pieces that I hung from my purse. This was such a great idea, and each time I passed by Roxy, the stations were full with ladies creating their craft. I even saw a few dudes rockin’ feathered headbands throughout the day.
I love my feathered purse ties, and I’ll always remember I made them with Roxy!
