ASR: An Overview of Class@ASR

Take time to Lounge at Class@ASR

Stepping into Class@ASR was a whole other experience.  After passing by the mega booths at ASR, with ads of every sort from the walls to the ceilings, you show your pass to get into Class.  From the black carpet and curtained walls, to the white leather seating and purple orchids, it felt as if you were walking into a swanky lounge.  If ASR was the mall marketplace, Class@ASR was the classy boutique.

Like the ASR Marketplace, each booth brought their own flavor of decor, but here, the only one that towered over everyone else was the deejay in his illuminated booth.  No giant spinning logos hung from the ceiling and dominated over everyone,  but some swanky glass bulbs over the bar added an element of elegance.  Although some brands had more square footage in their spaces, each booth had an even, open space format, where at ASR, you couldn’t even take a peek inside some of the brands.

Class@ASR is where you can find those chic brands who may have started off living the surf and skate life, but now roam the urban jungle with the most righteous gear.  In other words, the kicks you find in Class would never hit the ramp or touch the beaches, but they’d frequent the cement, exclusive and creaseless.

It seemed as if every label wanted to school you on what they had for Spring, from the longtime labels like Stussy, to some up-and-coming brands that will be highlighted here later.  It was easy to drop by a booth and speak to the owners and designers themselves, no scheduling necessary.

In between meetings, folks could take a break from Class for recess at the Playground.  Foosball, air hockey, and a pool table entertained the competitive people.  Need to loosen up?  The bar offered complimentary drinks in the afternoon to help get over the last period of the day.  Candy treats at the sweet tooth bar also gave a boost of energy for the last of the meetings.  Going to class has never been like this.

It was here at Class where I learned about limited edition releases and previewed pieces that the streets would be watching for.  Keep watching out for more coming from Class@ASR, because M.I.S.S. has plenty of presentations prepared for you.
