Since I was a kiddo I’ve been big on movies. I have all the best Disney movies in their original puffy plastic boxes and of course the coveted Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films. One of the movies in the top tier of my all time favorites has to be My Girl. I related to Vada Sultenfuss like no other. I was the tomboy girl in the cutoffs who rode bikes with the best of them. The only think missing from my Vada shadowing was a bell ringing, paint glistening Beach Cruiser. I guess that’s a part of my childhood I never let go of.
To this day I still want that bike! Recently, I’ve begun my search for that perfect two toned hot rod on two wheels. Say what you must. I will get that bike, bell included. The Cruisers were the most popular bikes from the 1930s to the 1950s, and we all know the 1950s are the best years for fashion in my eyes.
At this point I haven’t found that bike, but I’m still searching like a madwoman. We all have that one thing we search for until we find the perfect match. For some ladies its a man, for others its a pair of shoes. Well doggone it, I want my cruiser.
