Incorporating centuries old philosophies, Chinese Herbs from Peter Lamas promises a healthier scalp and thicker, more voluminous hair. Composed of botanical ingredients (regularly used by Chinese doctors to treat thinning hair), I am two weeks into reviewing it and my normally thin, rather lifeless hair has already sprung to life. The Stimulating Shampoo ($22 for 8 ounces) gently removes sebum buildup from the scalp, providing me with fuller, shinier hair. Its botanical scent is refreshing with a woodsy base, my absolute FAVE. After two washes, my hair felt clean, yet NOT stripped . Afterward, I massaged the Stimulating Conditioner ($20 for 8 ounces) into my scalp, to promote moisture retention (the conditioner also promises to relieve itchiness and dandruff). Upon drying, my hair was noticeably nourished without that “coated” feeling that many other products leave behind. Lastly, I smoothed my usual flyaways with the Revitalizing Styling Cream ($20 for 4 ounces). It’s PERFECT for areas around the hairline because of its light, non-greasy formula and can also be used on damp hair prior to blow drying. Chinese Herbs also offers a Regenerating Scalp Serum ($45 for 1.7 ounces) and Revitalizing Nutrient Mist ($20 for 4 ounces) that both help to strengthen weak, thinning hair.
