Where Are They Now: Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies

Where are they now?

Where are they now?

Maybe it’s the whole quarter-life crisis thing that I’ve been going through that has me feeling nostalgic, or maybe I’m just a bit bored but whatever it is, lately I’ve been obsessing over the cartoons I grew up with. I’m sad for the youth of today who will never have the chance to experience Rocko’s Modern Life, Doug, Ren and Stimpy, or even more of a throw back, My Little Pony and Jem. This recent longing for shows gone by made me think of one of one of my favorite TV shows as a kid of the 80s, Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies, and where the stars of the show are now.

After production wrapped in 1992 and the Muppet Babies were no longer babies, for many of the show’s stars Hollywood was calling. As we all know Kermit was a part of a much publicized, albeit brief, relationship with Lady Gaga prior to that he was the breakout star of an all muppet band with Red from Fraggle Rock and his fellow muppet baby Rolf, the group had a huge following in Japan but never really took off in the US. After her brief stint on The View and the successful launch of her accessories line, sold exclusively at Macy’s, Miss Piggy has been spotted vacationing in St Tropez with an unknown, yet handsome man. The show’s resident kind hearted rebel Animal, went on to tour with Poision and star in his own VH1 reality show. He is currently appearing on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.  Fozzie Bear was one of the youngest writers on Everyone Loves Raymond, while Gonzo, after receiving his Phd in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT is currently working with NASA to help bring man to Mars.

I guess like the theme song said, the muppet babies did make their dreams come true.
