The World According to M.I.S.S.: Happy April Fools Day President Obama

April Fools Day is one of my favorite holidays that really shouldn’t be a holiday. It’s the day I get to give my family, friends, and coworkers heart palpitations and headaches with my antics of trickery. I’m quite good at it, if I don’t say so myself. This year the April Fools jokes spanned beyond the realm of my little world and gilded right into the world of politics, which thanks to the President’s recent victory in his reformation of the healthcare system, has been teeming with turmoil and bickering.

In honor of April Fools Day the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) created a video that pokes a bit of fun at President Obama’s accomplishments and campaign promises. Entitled “Democrats’ Rainbows and Unicorns”, the video hit the net yesterday via the NRSC website, and quickly became the web’s most watched videos. The video features sound bites from Obama’s campaign trail, and includes praise for the President for “keeping his promises” of eliminating the increasing deficit, solving global warming by replacing cars with flying unicorns that run on rainbow power, and for giving the people of America free healthcare without mandate.

What could have been a innocent and slightly amusing video, took a turn towards propaganda after the narrator proclaims that Americans shouldn’t be fooled by President Obama and the Democratic Party. We all know what April Fools Day is, and we all know what it means, but something tells me this wasn’t completely done in favor of fun. Watch the video below and let me know what you think.

That video is not done in any fun spirit, nor is it innocent. It’s like they used April Fool’s Day as an excuse to make a bash video.

Starbucks did your holiday right, though: http://www.starbucks.com/blog/10113/starbucks-listens-to-customer-request-for-more-sizes.aspx
