Where did you take the photo?
I made this photograph in the living room of my townhouse in Ithaca, New York. I-town stand up!
What were you thinking before you took the photo?
I was thinking that I should put my collection of 80’s/90’s gear to use and take advantage of all the kids that were at my place that night. Including my two nieces.
What were you thinking after you took the photo?
I was pretty hyped because I thought they turned out great and I loved the fun vibe. I like photographing children – dressing them up – then letting them let loose.
What’s interesting to you about the photo?
I think the composition is interesting, and the fact that the girl on the left is popping out of the bottom of the frame. I think the mixture of patterns is effective, instead of distracting.
What camera did you use?
I used my Canon 50d – which is digital. I shoot a lot of film, including Polaroid film, but sometimes you just can’t front on the digi.
