M.I.S.S. NYFW: Mik Cire by Eric Kim Fall/Winter 2010

I admittedly don’t know much about menswear brands, but I found the Mik Cire by Eric Kim Fall/Winter 2010 collection a bit mundane – but then again, that is how I like my men to dress – I don’t want them to outshine me! The line focused mostly on outerwear, complete with hats, gloves, and even briefcases and suitcases. There were many leather jackets; my favorites had motorcycle elements and were paired with black boots. The most exciting part of the line was the suspenders hanging down from the slightly slouched jeans…yum. And of course, the men in eyeliner.

Because many of the models were wearing similar jackets in dark browns and blacks it was difficult to differentiate between the looks from my seat in the back. What I DID notice, was the excellent music during the show, which was provided by DJ Reach for S.K.A.M. Artist Inc. I met Reach when I first moved to NYC and still have one of the hot pink promotional tank tops he was giving out at the time, with his name and date of birth (1979) on the front and the words “Holla Back Girl” on the back. Don’t judge! Gwen Stefani’s song was very popular around when I moved to NYC. Basically my point is, he’s been spinning since people used the phrase “Holla Back Girl”, and he does it well.
