Perhaps I shouldn’t be too surprised to see this trend back so soon. It’s one of my favorites in recent years. The vibrant colors and wild pattern mix speak to me loud and clear! Tribal prints are a perfect way to include color into your look. You can do a little or a lot. You don’t have to go head-to-toe pattern over-load (which is were I might take it), you can add a belt or scarf or pair a top or bottom with a subtle separate…let that one key piece do the talking.
This trend is perfect for pattern mixing. Do not be afraid. It is an art to get pattern mixing right, start with mixing prints that have like color schemes and build from there. A nice surprise this go is the 40’s influence in some of the styling of this trend. From rolled hair styles and high waist pants at SUNO, ankle tied wedges at Marc by Marc Jacobs and Kenzo…tailored elements are reminiscent of an era gone by which adds a bit more of a relaxed femininity this time around.
