Ann-Sofie Back isn’t your run-of-the-mill designer. She once stated her design aesthetic as being “sophisticated with humor.” That same irony in her words can be found in her collections and her second collaboration with Topshop is no exception to that, either.
For Topshop SS2010, Back takes your everyday basic silhouettes and gives ’em a good slash here and there as a way to “represent a nonchalant attitude in dressing,” as if wearing a plain tee or sweatshirt weren’t nonchalant enough. The pieces are definitely looks for comfort but don’t leave much room for coverage. If you appreciate a gothic look or just have a penchant for simulated grunge, a peak at Back’s Topshop collabo is a must. The collection just dropped at Topshop Online and will be available in Topshop’s NY store January 27.
