Most noted for her waspy, old money appeal, Lilly Pulitzer’s designs were featured in The Official Preppy Handbook of 1980. Her whimsical, colorful designs attracted women everywhere from the Hamptons to Boca Raton. Her classic, printed shift dresses became a wardrobe staple for every socialite housewife of the 1980’s. For their post holiday offering, M·A·C introduces M·A·C in Lillyland. Ms. Pulitzer’s fun and flirty collection includes shades with brand appropriate names like Preppy, Florida, and Resort Life. Most of the line consists of limited edition shades, which are ALWAYS refreshing, and two powder compacts (Pearlmatte Face Powder and Pearlmatte Eyeshadow), which are embossed in Lilly inspired floral patterns.
The face stays light and bright with pops of color on cheeks for a sunkissed glow. Cremeblend Blush like Joie-de-Vivre (a limited peachy coral) and So Sweet, So Easy (light yellow pink, also limited) are playfully “tongue-in-CHEEK”.
For lips, M·A·C in Lillyland includes four shades of limited edition Lipgelee, which are reminiscent of Pulitzers clothing label: sheer pastels with a hint of sheen. My favorite, Resort Life, (off white with pink pearl) is a lovely nod to the sandy beaches of Key West.
M·A·C’s infamous Paint Pots and Technakhol pencils are reintroduced, as well as the #168 (large angled contour brush) and #239 (eye shader brush) brushes.
As the final touch, M·A·C in Lillyland boasts limited edition Coconut Ice nail lacquer, a light yellow, peach pink. In addition is Steamy (repromote), a hot and steamy pink with a cream finish. M·A·C in Lillyland launches January 7th.
