We got the opportunity to check out Jules Kim’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection for her beautiful and edgy jewelry line Bijules. You guys should already know we’re long time fans, considering she did a collabo with Gabriella for Mama Clothing a few years back. This Spring’s collection is simultaneously dark and dainty, made of small mouse and bird bones to punctuate Jules’s “African King regalia”, and “vampire hunter” theme. The collection was also smartly engineered to serve as a Trompe l’oeil (french for “fool of the eye”) wherein a piece may appear to be something that it is not. This is exempified best in the collection by the convertible “Bam Bam” bone ring, that can be used as a faux septum, lip, ear or nipple ring.
Check out the images of the collection below, and check out an in depth interview with Jules where she delves into what inspired her for the line, her involvement with Keep A Child Alive, and what else is coming up for Bijules in 2010.
