A couple of weeks ago (sorry for the delay) I got the opportunity to check out The Limited’s Spring 2010 preview. I have to say with all honesty that until recently, I’d kind of forgotten about The Limited, because they haven’t had a store in New York City for the past 10 years, and even when they did, their clothes really weren’t up my alley. But recently The Limited opened a Soho Pop-Up Shop stocked with attractive Fall and Winter goods, so I’ve started to pay a bit more attention. As I’ve gotten older and have worked in corporate, and other straightlaced office environments, I have certainly learned that there are situations where I need to step out of my preferred casual homegirl style and button it up a little bit. I’ve never been happy to do it, but knowing that there are stores where I can get affordable work separates that I wouldn’t mind getting caught in outside of the office makes that transition a little easier to cope with.
The Spring collection of simple mixable pieces with feminine detailing was created with a social woman in mind; outfits can go from the workplace to a night out, or on a vacation thanks to the wrinkle resistant fabrics. Versatile trenches make a strong showing, as do belts, bags, and accessories. All of these pieces are easily inserted into your existing wardrobe.
The collection will begin appearing in Limited stores (over 200 around the country) in February and March. Prices for the collection are mostly under $100. The strong trenches this season will be around $129, jackets and blazers at $98, bags at $59, tops are around $39 – $49, belts vary from $29 – $69 and jewelry will be priced at $20 – $89.
