Verizon isn’t exactly known for its stable of must have smart-phones (more like, “Aw mom! Do I have to get this one?” smartphones), but that might change with the release of HTC’s Imagio. HTC’s latest smartphone boasts the brand spanking new Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, the newest iteration of HTC’s TouchFLO 3D interface featuring social network integrationm a rather large 3.6 inch touchscreen display, the standard 3.5mm headphone jack for listening to David Bowie music marathons, a 5MP camera with autofocus, quadband EDGE and HSPA 2100 for those times when you want to yap away on your phone while galavanting across the globe, and, of course, built in GPS and Wi-Fi. More interesting, though, is the fact that this is the first smartphone to support Verizon’s MediaFLO-based V CAST Mobile TV, which allows you to watch channels like Comedy Central, Nickeloden, NBC, MTV, ESPN and more all on your phone (for an extra $15 a month, naturally).
You can order the Imagio today online at Verizon’s site, or you can wait a couple of weeks and try it out at one of their physical retail stores. It’ll run you $199.99 on a two year contract after (what else?) rebates.
