M.I.S.S. first gave you a glimpse of Bambako in March of this year and since it’s been a while, allow me to give you a quick refresher of this fun brand of headbands. Bambako is created by the crafty, Martha Stewart lovin’ Abigail Ricarte. She creates designs for your dome that embody all things pretty. Her use of satins, chiffons and grosgrain ribbon are complemented or contrasted by beautiful plumes, braid details, beading and bows.
For Fall/Winter 2009, Abigail played with texture and color, creating ultra femme statement pieces that Blair Waldorf would approve of. Styles like “Night In Tunesia,” “Holler” and “Martha” are more bold in design while the daintier “Joy Resounding” or “Oh Hey” allow ladies who prefer to accessorize lightly to have a pop of color and couture, too.
Abigail’s goal was to appeal to every kind of girl; uptown, downtown, young yuppie to hipster. With the prices of the pieces ranging from $18 to $78, there’s no reason that goal can’t be reached. And given that each piece is hand crafted with care and creativity, it’s worth the price.
In addition to having a new Fall/Winter collection and in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bambako has a range of pink headbands in a variety of widths that feature ribbon rosettes, sheer chiffon gathers, and feathers. 100% of the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for The Cure.
