ART OF REBELLION: Art meets motorcycle culture…
The ART OF REBELLION brings together 10 U.S. artists hand-picked by Harley-Davidson®–icons and emerging artists who are world-renowned in both the music and art worlds for their rock poster artwork. Their work will be on display at the ART OF REBELLION show Saturday, October 17 at La.VENUE (608 W. 28th Street New York, NY). The artists chosen for the event in the West Chelsea gallery district are Art Chantry, Brian Ewing, Derek Hess, Dirty Donny, Frank Kozik, Harpoon, John Van Hammersveld, Lindsey Kuhn, Tara McPherson and The Pizz.
This video is an interview with Tara McPherson in her Williamsburg studio.
If I could I would go to this event without a doubt. My main reason is because Rat Fink is on the hog on the flyer, and of course three of my favorite artists are in the show.

ROQ LA RUE:
Since opening in 1998, we have been an integral part of the Pop Surrealism/New Contemporary art movement. We continue to exhibit established artists in the genre as well as fostering emerging artists, many of whom go on to great acclaim in the Pop Surrealism and Contemporary art scene. Our emphasis is on art that embodies technical craftsmanship blended with fantastical imagery and visually dynamic narratives. We feature monthly exhibitions, and offer better works on the secondary market. Please let us know if there is something special you are seeking.
Roq La Rue is pleased to present a trio of show to kick off fall in Seattle.
We are thrilled to be presenting Ana Bagayan, who will be showing an ambitious new series of paintings featuring her trademark highly refined painting style focused on a sense of nostalgia, featuring young girls interacting with animals.
Ryan Heshka returns to the gallery with a new series of his dynamic pulp-pop paintings based off Golden Age of Sci Fi imagery, but given Ryan’s distinctive spin, and Tin will be exhibiting 4 new of his romantic steampunk flavored pastel drawings.
I will be checking this out!
Opening Night Friday, October 09. Show runs to November 07, 2009

Slightly twisted, painstakingly beautiful and hauntingly lifelike, these exquisite art dolls beg to be played with and fussed over. Quirky personalities that put Barbie to shame, the dolls are hand crafted wonders of moody, lush, mixed media for the “big girl” (or boy) in you.
