Epaulet Announces Exclusive Melissa & Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Spring ’10 Launch

Lady Dragon Heart in Fuschia

Lady Dragon Heart in Fuschia

Brooklyn fave Epaulet has always had the most extensive collection of Melissa & Vivienne Westwood shoes, and now, they just announced that they will be the EXCLUSIVE US retailer of the Spring 2010 Melissa & Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Lady Dragon shoe collection!! The “heart” design has been rendered in four stunning new colors, and there are two vibrant new styles – the “Orb” and the “Stamp” – and they are available now. I love the “unmatchiness” of the fuschia and red heart pair, and the ice pair with the royal blue hearts would be excellent for that slutty Snow White costume you just picked up at Ricky’s! I have a feeling these shoes will be iconic in the future – they are like the affordable version of a Louboutin shoe – so grab them while you can!

Stock is extremely limited, and they’re only available through at the Brooklyn storefront and at the website of Epaulet.

US 11/2009: RISE & FALL: A Revolutionary Art & Music

Rise&Fall

LA-based BOA Events announces show dates for Rise&Fall, an art and music event series that commemorates the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. This national mobile art installation and electronic music event will feature artwork that interprets the theme “Breaking Down Barriers.” All artwork will be displayed on Kodak S730 and D830 digital picture frames that will showcase the multiple entries that were received during the open call for submissions. The nightlife event will also include music performed by renowned Turkish-German DJ/Producer, DJ Ipek Ipekcioglu.

“During our open call for submissions, we received artwork from 19 countries and 19 states within the United States. Submissions were requested in digital form to be displayed on Kodak digital picture frames throughout the venues because it allows us to showcase creative representations of the broader theme of breaking down barriers to a demographic in venues and volume we otherwise could not,” added Mikaela Pollock, co-director of BOA.

M.I.S.S. Techcessories: Mulberry and Apple Team Up On a Collection of Bags

Designer handbangs aren’t only meant to look good; they’re also meant to carry…things.  And pretty soon designer handbag maker Mulberry will unleash a bunch of good looking bags that are pretty good at carrying things designed by Apple.  The British company collaborated with the folks in Cupertino on a special 9-piece collection that includes a handful of MacBook and MacBook Pro laptop bags and sleeves and mini-cross bags for the iPhone or iPod Touch.  Each bag features the luxurious natural leather exteriors that Mulberry has become famous for, as well as one with a bold smudged leopard print, and they all included techno friendly extras on the insides, like extra padding, an array of pockets, and eyelet holes for headphone access.  Prices range from $250 for the Daria iPhone bag all the way up to $1200 for a Bayswater Laptop Bag.

The collection will be available on apple.com this Sunday, November 1st and at mulberry.com a month later on December 1st.

Rich & Skinny Spring 2010

Rich and Skinny Spring 2010 4

Though the brand name may come off as obnoxious to some, Rich & Skinny does a hell of a job with putting out great jeans. Ironically, you don’t have to be rich to buy a pair and you don’t have to be skinny to have them fit and look good but they jeans will make you feel that way.

Created by two designers who know the game, Michael Glasser (designer of 7 for All Mankind) and Joie Rucker (founding name of label “Joie“), the dynamic duo bring together their design sensibilities and understanding of the denim industry to produce denim that customers want.

Rich and Skinny Spring 2010 3

Rich & Skinny got its start late 2006 and  steadily gained momentum after appearing on celebs such as Jessica Alba and Rihanna. The denim styles are varied, giving a little something for everyone, and built for comfort due to the use of unique European denim that blends cotton with Lycra Spandex. For this season, Rich & Skinny’s signature “Sleek” jeans come in a destroyed camel-color finish while the “Super Skinny” get a subtle acid wash treatment in light and dark blues. Also new for the Spring 2010 collection are cute cut-offs with interesting cuff detail.

The site is down for now but you can get a jist of the styles at online retailers like Revolve Clothing.
